Anxiety Treatment

THERAPY TO HELP YOU THRIVE WITH CONFIDENCE AND CALM

You are feeling increasingly overwhelmed and dissatisfied with various aspects of your life. It has become difficult to manage even the smallest of daily tasks, leading to further frustration. You find yourself feeling more irritable than usual, which in turn negatively affects your relationships with others. Additionally, your self-confidence has been impacted, leaving you feeling unsure and hesitant in many situations.

  • You often worry excessively or have trouble sleeping

  • Or you feel anxious in crowds more often than you would like

  • Perhaps you often worry what others say or think about you

  • And wish you could experience relief from your anxious thoughts and feelings

You can’t remember what it feels like to have peace in your life.

Anxiety does not have to be a permanent fixture in your life.

If you’re struggling with panic or anxiety, you’re not alone - and you don’t have to face it alone either. Whether it’s the racing heart, the contact “what if” thoughts or the overwhelming sense that something isn’t right, anxiety can feel exhausting and overwhelming. Panic attacks in particular can be terrifying - striking suddenly and leaving you feeling out of control, unsure of what’s happening and often scared it will happen again.

Please know that what you’re experiencing is real, and it makes sense. Anxiety is not a flaw or a weakness, but rather a response to stress, uncertainty or past experiences that your nervous system hasn’t been able to fully process. And I know it can feel like anxiety is running the change, but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

Therapy provides a place to explore what’s going on beneath the surface of your emotions. My goal is to help you understand your anxiety with compassion so you can learn to respond to it in new ways. You deserve relief and clarity.

You can learn to manage your anxiety

Remember that anxiety is one of the many human emotions we experience. So, it plays an important role in our internal alarm system - alerting us to potential danger or the need to pay attention. But when anxiety takes over and stops feeling helpful, it can cause you to feel stuck and powerless.

The good news? Things can change.

Anxiety doesn’t have to be a life sentence. With the right tools, you can learn to live with it in a way that no longer controls you. It’s definitely possible to experience relief, especially since our brains can be incredibly adaptable. It can begin when you respond to your anxiety with curiosity rather than fear and lean in rather than avoid.

Counseling can be a powerful place to start this shift. It provides a safe space to explore what your anxiety is trying to protect and uncover the roots beneath it. Then you can learn strategies to calm your nervous system. I often tell client feelings want to be felt, not fixed. Rather than avoiding your anxiety, simply allowing it to exist and pass by, can make a world of difference. In counseling you learn how to implement this change.

Hope begins with the belief that change is possible - and it is.

Anxiety treatment can help. Together we'll work on:

Outlook

_______________________________

Anxiety often leads to a distorted perception of reality, influencing how we interpret situations and react to them. This can create a cycle of negative thoughts and behaviors that can feel overwhelming. By employing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we can systematically address these distortions, identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns.

Coping skills

________________________________

The key to managing anxiety effectively is learning to understand its triggers, recognizing the signs, and developing coping strategies that can be implemented in daily life. By enhancing self-awareness and practicing mindfulness techniques, we can create a more balanced and calm approach to situations that might otherwise provoke stress or anxiety.

Insight

________________________________

Gaining insight into where your anxiety specifically stems from, as well as learning about your individual triggers, is imperative to effectively managing your anxiety. Together, we will explore your personal story in depth and identify the elements that have contributed to increasing your anxiety over time.

Life can feel differently than the way it does today.

It’s time for change!

Questions about anxiety therapy

  • I know it's difficult. But oftentimes coming to that first session can prompt the beginning stages of change. I provide a safe space to share your thoughts without judgement. When everyday life pressures are weighing you down, I offer a place to experience relief and healing. Processing what is occurring in your life can greatly reduce anxious feelings. Feel free to talk as much or as little as you feel comfortable, especially during the first session.

  • Anxiety therapy gives you the space to process deep emotions and make sense of them, so you can view situations from a different perspective. Oftentimes making sense of how we feel involves openly discussing thoughts and feelings. Through counseling we can discuss appropriate coping skills to utilize or different approaches for handling certain situations. Together we can look at how learned patterns of behavior from your family of origin may also be influencing how you perceive life challenges and stress.
