A SAFE SPACE FOR TEENAGERS TO BE HEARD AND SUPPPORTED

Academic stress, social expectations, family dynamics, relationships and future worries. Maybe you feel like you’re always trying to keep up or make everyone happy.

Whether you’re dealing with:
Anxiety or panic attacks
Depression or mood swings
Academic burnout
Grief or trauma
Peer pressure or bullying
Low self-esteem or perfectionism
Family tension
….you’re not alone. And therapy can help
You are worth investing in!
What Therapy is Like for Teens
Coming to therapy doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It means you want support and that you are brave enough to ask for help.
I won’t force you talk about anything before you’re ready. Therapy is your space. It’s not about lectures or advice. It’s about getting to know the real, authentic version of you.
I’m Not Sure What I’m Feeling.
This is totally normal by the way. It’s very common at your age to feel unsure about your emotions, especially if you have been pushing them down or avoiding them. This is the place to figure it out. My job is to help you find the words little by little. Sometimes we can start with how emotions feel in your body, or use drawing/writing to further explore and express.
A session can look like this:
Talking about whatever is on your mind
Being listened to without judgement or pressure
Learning skills to handle stress and set healthy boundaries
Understanding your emotions instead of being controlled by them
Exploring who you are – without being told by others
Rewriting negative self-talk
If you are curious and wondering if therapy might help, let’s connect.
You don’t have to carry the weight of the world alone. I can walk along with you.
It’s okay if you’re unsure where to start because we can figure it out together. You are in charge of your therapy.… I’m here to help.
I’m not here to fix you, change you or tell you what to do. I often tell teenage clients that therapy is a place to get all of their uncomfortable feelings out and leave them in my office, so they no longer weigh you down. My goal is to guide you in understanding yourself better and feeling more confident.
Greater Self-Awareness: You’ll gain deeper insight into yourself, your emotions, and the patterns that may be holding you back, allowing you to make more empowered choices.
Improved Relationships: Therapy can help you develop healthier boundaries and communication skills, leading to more fulfilling and balanced relationships.
Stress Reduction: By addressing societal and personal pressures, you’ll learn coping strategies to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and enhance your overall well-being.
Increased Confidence: You’ll work through self-esteem struggles and learn to embrace your worth, helping you feel more confident and grounded in who you are.
What we’ll work on

What It’s Like To Work With Me
I’m not here to lecture you. My role is to listen, encourage insight and help you figure things out in a way that feels best for you. I’m not easily shocked or rattled, so you can be completely honest.
I understand that talking to a stranger can seem weird, awkward and even pointless at first. But words are so very powerful. Especially when shared with a nonjudgemental and validating person who has your best interest at heart. You never have to share what you aren’t ready for and you determine the pace of sessions.
You are steering your ship; I’m helping navigate.
You Can Start To Feel Differently
Therapy can take a little time, but you can begin to notice little shifts over time. Some of those might include:
Feeling more grounded and less emotionally reactive
Talking to friends and family in a more authentic way
No longer beating yourself up
Experiencing less social anxiety
Getting out of your own head
Life will still have challenges, but those challenges no longer run you life.
A Reset Button
Attending therapy doesn’t mean you have to be falling apart. You also don’t have to have everything figured out. Rather it’s a place to explore those things.
You can just be a person in progress of becoming the best version of you. And someone simply wanting to feel better. If that resonates with you, therapy might be the safe space you are seeking.
Therapy is your space
-
Good question. What you share in therapy stays between us unless:
You or someone else are in danger
You are being hurt or at risk of hurting yourself
Something has to be reported legally
Outside of those things, therapy is your space. If there is something you want to tell your parents, I can help you figure that out.
-
It depends on you! You might talk, do activities, or learn skills to manage stress, anxiety, or relationships. It’s a space for you to figure things out, with professional support.
-
That’s okay and completely normal. We will always go at your pace. You will never be forced to talk about anything you don’t want to discuss.
